Am I eligible for the Guaranteed Ride Program?

We'll pay for your Lyft or Uber ride when you walk, bike, carpool, or take transit and something happens. Up to 5 times per year.

For Members: If your employer is a current member of the 50 Corridor TMA and you utilize sustainable transportation for your commute at least 50% of the time that you commute to an office, you are eligible for the Guaranteed Ride program. Please note, member employees are employees of workplaces that have a current membership with the 50 Corridor TMA.

For Residents: If you live in one of our residential communities, you are eligible for the Guaranteed Ride program. Residents are those who live in one of our residential service areas, such as Rosemont, Vineyard, or Rancho Cordova (Stone Creek, Capital Village, Anatolia, Kavala Ranch, Cypress, Sunridge)

The following sustainable transportation modes are eligible:
• Bike
• Walk
• Carpool
• Vanpool
• Transit (including bus, light rail, Amtrak/Capitol Corridor, on-demand shuttles like SmaRT Ride and Via, and Paratransit)

When can I redeem a ride? What are some reasons when I cannot redeem a ride?

Below are some general reasons when you can redeem a Guaranteed Ride:
• You are sick
• You need to pick up a sick child from daycare or school
• Your carpool was canceled
• You are having trouble walking or biking (inclement weather, flat tire on bike, etc)
• Bus/Train is more than 15 minutes late
• You have to work lateFamily emergency

A good rule of thumb is ‘if you’re trying to walk, bike, carpool, or take transit and the situation is out of your control, you should be able to redeem a Guaranteed Ride’.
• Below are some general reasons when you cannot redeem a Guaranteed Ride:
• You are running late
• You're tired and don't want to take the bus/train or bike
• You want to go out drinking, but don’t want to drive
• Your car is in the shop and you don’t want to use an alternative mode
• You want to take a Uber/Lyft/taxi with coworkers to an after hours work event.

Some state agencies have offices statewide and in remote areas. How far away can an employee be to utilize these services? For example, if we have an office in San Francisco, is an employee in the San Francisco office able to utilize this service?

This depends on your level of membership.  Please reach out to Gabi, Director of Membership Development at Gabi@50corridor.com to discuss your membership.
