How
the Program Works
- You must first find from 1 - 3 people to carpool with to either your
worksite or the Light Rail Station at either Zinfandel or Cordova Town Center. If
you need assistance in finding others to carpool with, you can check
with your employer's Commute Coordinator, if there is one, or sign up for
the on-line Commuter Club at http://www.sacregioncommuterclub.org and
check out the Rideshare Board. (Family members count as potential carpoolers)
- You are also eligible if you take the Cordovan shuttle to the light
rail station 3 days a week. Click here for the Cordovan schedule.
- When you have at least one person lined
up to carpool with, register for the program. Your information will
be validated and you will be notified that you have been approved to participate.
- If
you haven't already, you'll need to register for the on-line Commuter Club
at http://www.sacregioncommuterclub.org so
you can register your carpool trips each week on the Commute Diary. As
a separate benefit, Commute Diary participants are eligible to win other
prizes each week – from coffee cards to movie passes.
- If your carpool is among the first 10 carpools that register,
you will receive a $50 signing bonus, to be paid at the end of your first
month of carpooling.
- Once you are notified
that you have been approved for the program, you and each one of your carpoolers
must complete a weekly Commute Diary as part of the on-line Commuter Club. The
diary process is easy and only takes a few minutes each week. Both
you and your carpoolers must indicate that you have carpooled on the same
three days each week.
- Once your diary entries have been verified, each member
of the carpool will be sent a $50 check.
- The program ends in June with the last checks being mailed
in July.
