Realignment project starts

Saratoga Way will soon interface a little more efficiently with the El Dorado Hills Boulevard interchange thanks to a project started last week by the El Dorado County Department of Transportation.

The project will also widen southbound El Dorado Hills Blvd from Park drive to the westbound onramp to US 50. The project is expected to be complete by next summer.

The improvements are funded by traffic impact mitigation fees collected under the county's El Dorado Hills-Salmon Falls road impact fee program.

7th Street Closure set

As part of Regional Transit work on the Amtrak Folsom Extension, contractors will be closing 7th Street in Downtown Sacramento beginning October 25 at 7 a.m. The closure will only impact 7th street between J and L. The street will remain closed 24-hours a day until November 7 at 10 p.m.

The actual work that will be accomplished is the installation of a 48 inch combined sewer, which is required before track work can begin.

This combined sewer will be installed on 7th Street between H and K streets. Work crews will be working on 7th Street beginning at K Street, working south to north one block at a time.

Traffic on 7th Street will be detoured at J Street to 9th Street to L Street. Sidewalks on 7th Street will remain open at all times. Access to businesses will be maintained. The entrance into the Downtown Plaza on 7th Street between J & K streets will remain open (flagger will be present).
