Bradshaw 7 design complete; construction to begin soon

After two years, the design of the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District (SRCSD) Bradshaw 7 interceptor sewer project is complete. The project will increase wastewater conveyance for existing communities and planned growth in northeast Sacramento County.

Construction should begin in the next few months. The construction project will be broken into two segments to accelerate pipeline installation. The two segments stretch more than seven miles and represent an important segment of the 31-mile Bradshaw/Folsom system. For more information, click here.

RT's construction schedule for Downtown Sacramento

Here's an update of Regional Transit's work in Downtown Sacramento relating to the rail extension to the Amtrak Station.

  • 7th Street
    • One lane will be closed through Wednesday (October 13) on 7th between J & K.
    • October 12 - 14, crews will continue saw cutting on 7th Street. This will result in daytime moving lane closures between H and K streets.
    • October 13 - 15, RT's contractor will perform night work, which consists of lane closures on 7th Street between I and K streets. On Friday evening (10/15), crews will be working at the 7th & J intersection. There will be some traffic impacts that evening. Once again, this work will be evening work only (after 7 p.m.).
  • 8th Street
    • No lane closures planned for the next two weeks.
  • I Street
    • No lane closures planned this week.
    • I Street potholing (lane closures) postponed until further notice.

South Midtown closures

The City of Sacramento's Department of Transportation will close the intersection of Capitol Avenue and 25th Street during the weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from October 11th to October 20th. City crews are building a traffic circle as part of the South Midtown Area Revitalization and Transportation (SMART) Plan.

A detour marked with signs will be set up for drivers approaching the area. During this temporary closure, drivers are asked to use alternative routes. Access will be maintained for businesses and residents.
