Two 50 Corridor projects hinge on Measure A vote

Tuesday's vote on Measure A, the half-cent sales tax renewal for transportation, will determine the short-range future for two major transportation projects planned for the 50 Corridor.

The new bridge over the American River to replace the Folsom Dam Road is one project that will move forward with the passage of Measure A.

The Cosumnes Parkway, a new road connecting 1-5, Route 99 and Highway between Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, Folsom and El Dorado Hills, is another project that will advance with Measure A funding.

Only residents of Sacramento County will find Measure A on their ballots.

Sewer project almost done

After 19 months of work, there one or two less bulldozers along Folsom Blvd. That's because the Folsom East 1B Interceptor is almost complete.

Sacramento Regional Sanitation District has installed the new sewer pipeline on Folsom Blvd. from approximately one mile west of Hazel to near the Sunrise Blvd.intersection.

With the pipeline now installed, Regional San is clearing the way for the Sacramento County Department of Transportation to begin Phase II of its Folsom Blvd. widening project. The road widening should be complete by fall 2005.
