It's only a test...
Regional Transit has started signal testing along Folsom Boulevard from Hazel Avenue to Downtown Folsom. For the next couple weeks, RT's contractors will be testing the crossing systems at all intersections. At each intersection, train crossing arms will be going down and the bells will be flashing, simulating a light rail train going through the intersection. No trains will be running during this test period, but those traveling on Folsom Boulevard should be aware of this activity. Testing will take place during off-peak hours (day and night) in order to avoid any impacts during commute hours. Traffic delays should be minimal.
Who's cleaning up our air?
You tell us by nominating someone for a 2005 Clean Air Award. The American Lung Association of Sacramento-Emigrant Trails requests your help in identifying Clean Air Champions for its 2005 clean air awards program. If you know a person, business, public agency or community group who goes above and beyond to help clean the air in this region, nominate them today. Award categories include Citizen Group/Individual, Business, Government, Regional and Smart Growth. Winners will be recognized at the 29th Annual Clean Air Awards Luncheon on May 5, 2005. Nominations are due January 31, 2005. For a nomination form, visit www.saclung.org
