| No more westbound wiggle
Commuters will no longer have to negotiate a slight "wiggle" during their
morning commutes on Highway 50 in downtown Sacramento. Westbound Highway 50, between 65th Street and Stockton Blvd., has been straightened out again.
Those lanes were shifted to the left last October to facilitate work
on a $2.8 million sound wall project along westbound U.S. Highway 50
between 39th Street and 42nd Streets. Crews have been working since last Monday
night to return those traffic lanes back to their original positions.
Overhead signage and lane delineation will be restored by the end of this week.
Light Rail boardings exceed projections
Although the numbers are still being analyzed, Regional Transit believes that ridership on the new Sunrise Rail extension is already much better than they had hoped for.
The 2015 projection for the entire Folsom Extension is 6,000 daily boardings. However, less than three months after the Sunrise Extension opening, daily boardings have been recorded at 1,700. The entire extension, from Sunrise to Historic Folsom, will be open by October, 2005.

The interview should not take more than five minutes to complete. Calls are expected to be made in the next week to 10 days, ending by September 10th.
If you would like to participate, please provide your name, phone number and best time to call to the following e-mail address: evaluation@50corridor.com As not everyone who responds will necessarily be interviewed, if you would like to provide any comments and suggestions about the web site, please forward your thoughts to the same address.
