RT Reports Route Changes

Effective Sunday, September 5, 2004, Sacramento Regional Transit District (RT) will modify bus route and light rail schedules.

Due to a new state law, all transit agencies are required to schedule meal breaks and rest periods for bus and light rail operators at certain time intervals. The adjustments will better reflect actual operating schedules and improve service reliability.

   RT will implement minor schedule changes on bus routes 4, 5, 20, 26, 34, 62, 95, 100, 200, and 201.

   RT will implement major schedule changes on bus routes 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 22, 23, 30, 36, 37, 38, 47, 50E, 51, 56, 61, 63, 64, 65, 67, 68, 72, 74, 79, 80, 81, 82, 84, 88, 140, 141, 142, 143, 206, 235, 236, 239, 255, 261, 262, and Light Rail.

US Reps Want Road Opened

US Representatives John Doolittle and Doug Ose are calling for reopening Folsom Dam Road until a new $66 million replacement bridge is opened in early 2008.

Citing security concerns against potential terrorist attacks, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation closed Folsom Dam Road in February 2003.

At the news conference in Folsom, Doolittle, R-Roseville, and Rep. Ose, R-Sacramento, teamed up to announce the bridge project was moving forward and that its funding is secure. In June, the house passed the Energy and Water Appropriations Act of 2004, which included $5 million toward the construction of the new bridge.
